Well little girl, you made it home only to be put into a little light box to help with your jaundice. I guess I never understood what this was before you entered my life and now I feel so sorry for you. Basically your little liver isn't fully operational yet (normal for a 4 day old) and so you're not able to remove the bilirubin from your system. The best way to remove the bili is to up your food intake but since I was slow to get milk, your weight went down and your pediatrician recommended putting in the light box since UV rays help rid the bili as well. We even had to supplement you with a little formula to get your weight up. Not you have nipple confusion but daddy is getting some tricks from a maternity store to help us out. Phhheew- what a couple of days. You're doing great though and are being the best little girl ever.
