tonight I loved you so much. The gesture was so selfless that I saw this spectacular women you would become shine through. It was simple but my heart melted non-the-less.
When putting you to sleep you moved quickly over to the wall side of the bed, patted your pillow and said " mommy- your side." When I joined you in your toddler bed you searched beneath you for something and handed it to me- your prized purple binky. "you mommy."
I replied with phrases like "no thank you" and "I'm ok" but you pressured me into taking it.
Then, without fan fair you took the binnky from your mouth and placed an over exaggerated kiss upon my forehead. I returned your kiss with one to your cheek. You laid there quietly until you whispered, "thank you for kissing me mommy."
I whispered "I love you so much Hazel" and then silently slipped out of bed, using the excuse of getting you water, and went to tell daddy how special that moment made me feel. Thank YOU Hazel.
