you celebrated your very first christmas this year with us and made it the most special year yet.The build-up to Christmas was spent at a few parties, lots of shopping (we went to almost every store downtown in the last two weeks) and wrapping presents (mostly while you were sleeping).
We headed over to Papa and Grams on christmas eve for their annual open house- most people were anxiously awaiting your arrival so they could meet you. You ate, slept and visited with people and even showed off a smile every once in a while. We opened up presents with your aunt and uncle clemensen and Belle and Portia. Later we went to sleep and you were up most of the night, restlessly awaiting santa I'm sure.
We skyped with your grandma and grandpa Anderson (and cousins, aunts and uncles) in Michigan and also with the Brooklyn gang.
You were bombarded with gifts...mostly clothing including a dress made by your great-grandmother dottie worn by your grandma anderson and your great aunt shine.
You got a few hanging toys for your stroller and a book that you've been enjoying...bright colors with simple shapes. You also got your highchair from papa and grams for when you get bigger....maybe you can use it in another 3-4 months.
Your smiles are becoming more frequent and your attention span increases daily. As a matter of fact, just the other day layed in your crib watching ever so closely the orange aardvark that Alyse gave you. You're also speaking more- not in the literal sense but are making different types of noises. We practice each morning while I'm changing your diaper and you also work on your sounds with your daddy.
We must have tuckered you out because you slept 9 straight hours last night and then another 3 hours. What a tired little girl.
We're traveling to Hawaii in 3 weeks- your first plane ride. We're excited to get us all to warmer weather.
Merry Christmas sugarplum.
Hey there Hazel Lee,
Hey there little baby,
we love you so completely,
yes we do,
