It was indeed a panic for us. It was a Monday night. A tanker truck had rolled over on i-5 and closed the freeway for hours. Traffic was a beast heading in any direction. We knew we would be late in picking you up. I tried to call the JCC. No answer. I tried again. No response.
Finally as we got closer to the I-90 bridge I got a call from Karli at the J. She informed me the center received a bomb threat and that everyone had evacuated to the synagogue where everyone was safe.
We thought this call was coming unfortunately. Over the last few weeks at least 50 Jewish centers had been targeted and threatened. What terrible person would do that? Even the president condemned the actions at a national joint session speech.
When I asked what you knew I was told they told you that a bd person called nd wanted to do bad things so th fire truck arrived and you (and your friends) evacuated.
When I picked you up you were happy and safe. Playing uno I believe. Oblivious to the cruel ness that happens without reason.
I love you and please stand up for justice- always.
Xoxo
